Alejandro’s fascination with braiding began when he watched a video on how to construct a fish tail braid. Using a wig he would practice in the evenings while studying cosmetology during the day. In only two years Lopez has gained an enviable following on Instagram.
The practice of braiding has been around for centuries, people would braid hair to identify tribe, martial status, age and religion.
Always looking to improve his skills, Alejandro constantly looks back at previous designs and tries to improve upon them. Taking inspiration from movies, nature, victorian clothing and even architecture. Creations can take as little as two hours or as long as seven.
