The Orient Express is shrouded in mystery and adventure, mention its name and images of men in linen suits and ladies in beautiful dresses dabbing sweat from their brow comes to mind. This is one of the original Orient Express trains, the name still lives on of course as a private venture run by the leisure company Belmond.
As you look at these images taken by Andre Joosse of the rusting and decomposing train, the ghosts of past travellers seem to linger within the carriages, what was their story, where were they going? The train was parked here as it was due to be restored and placed in a museum but the plans to build the museum have been put on hold so the train lies dormant, slowly fading away.
